Reply to "How to deal with no longer being the coach?"

Everybody is different.  It took me a while (about one season) to adjust.  I'm one of those detailed folks who just took a little longer.  Each one of my 3 boys loved baseball but for different  reasons.   Once I began seeing the game through their eyes and not my own then I really began to settle in just fine.  As a side note, the tournament tailgating beverage options are vastly more interesting as a parent than a Coach.

When I think back to some of the crazy things I saw coaches tell their son's I just can't help laughing.   There was one kid who had a lot of talent (legit switch hitter at 10 years old) who would wait for his Dad/Travel Coach to tell him to bat right handed or left handed.  So, he wouldn't step into the box until his Dad told him.  God help us if his Dad was busy doing something else.    My dugout would be barking "left" or "right" to further confuse the kid which was hilarious on its own.   Ah, the good ol' days.  I'm still laughing right now!
