I believe that the transfer rule applies for a D2 to D1 transfer and you would either have to sit out a year or go to a JC for a year and then to the D1.

If exposure is your goal my guess is that you'd get more at a JC than the D2 I'm guessing you are talking about. Only guesses though.

Don't forget to factor in your academic goals. Does the D2 have the major you're interested in?

BTW, almost all of the JCs around here have a summer baseball class that is starting up and if you decide to go the JC route it is time to get signed up now.
