May sound obvious but outcome of the swings also can tell you a lot. Not just how fast and hard you hit it but also whether you hit inside pitches hard and fair, hit outside pitches straight and oppo instead of rolling over them and generally creating flush and straight line drives that are not hooked or flared.

Those things can tell you a lot about the quality of a swing, especially how the hitter can adjust to pitches in all 4 corners.
