Reply to "What Do You Do?"

Theres a whirlpool on the Snake called “four oar deal.” Apparently a raft got caught in it a long time ago. They lost four oars fighting their way out. 

I never looked at cliff jumping as a hobby. But when I was at Sebago Lake in Maine I would jump off Frye’s Leap. It’s about fifty feet. It’s illegal now. A park ranger is posted there in the summer. Several people have died or been seriously injured not jumping out over the rocks. I always closed my eyes after jumping. I thought it’s what falling down a dark elevator shaft must feel like. 

Anyone who knows me as a parent and a coach is shocked when I tell them some of this stuff.
