Does anyone have any experience or know how to get pro scouts to come see you play at a Division 3 school? I've heard most of the Division 3 players that get drafted/signed played in top summer leagues like Northwoods or Cape Cod but those leagues seem to want scout recommendations. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Rising Junior Summer Strategy

My 2018 RHP/OF is stuck sitting at 80 mph despite growing to 6'3"/175 since he broke 80 as a 13 year old. Living in the remote northwest without high school baseball, he attended one major showcase and did some guest pitching last fall (for a receptive southern travel team that has asked him back) have produced one serious D3 nibble for his arm and bat, and one WAC D1 "stay in touch" reach out. Past summers at home have always featured hi-level club ball from May-July where the kid played...

I would have to say that this team is very well put together. They have an all around approach to the way they are handling this team and it shows in their practices and meetings. I'm excited to watch my kids play for this team this year and I hope we have a great year with many more to come. The team site is awesome, whoever did their website design did an amazing job. Re: High School summer team in New Hampshire

BaseballPlayer123 ·
What part of the state are you in? You don't need to mention the town if you are not comfortable, but a region might help. The response for a kid in Berlin/Gorham may be different than one in Salem/Nashua. And also, you are right, most rosters are set, but you never know who might have picked up an injury or just had a kid lose interest. Have you checked into local Legion or Junior Legion? Thanks for the reply. I live in the Concord area, but am willing to drive some distance. The Legion...

Sounds good. Be careful not to overdo it with the arm. If he is like most kids his age, even though he has hit a height spurt, there is still much maturing his body will likely do in the next few years. That, along with keeping mechanics in check, should help considerably with the boost in velo he is hoping for. It just might not happen on the "early D1" timeline that kids would like it to happen. Control what you can control and best of luck. As always, enjoy every step along the way.
