The dream definitely is alive and well in Lubbock, Texas! At least at my house. Razz

Mike Marshall, 1B, Lubbock Christian, Phillies, 931

I had the pleasure of getting to know Mike this year. Mike, son of former Dodger 1B Mike Marshall came to LCU from Stanford. He wanted to hit, not just pitch. In 2008, Mike made two appearances in the College World Series tossing a scoreless inning June 14 against Florida State in their Omaha opener, then retired his only batter faced June 16 versus Georgia.

This year, on May 31st, he pitched a complete game/three hit shutout against LSU-Shreveport in the NAIA College World Series. An incredible line, considering he did it with a broken foot.

Another 2011 NAIA standout - Nico Taylor, the Northwood slugger fom Mckinney, transferred from Arizona. Most NAIA rosters are full of these guys. Just like in D1/2, there are quality teams/players at the top and poor teams at the bottom. And... a ton of talent in between.
