SGV Arsenal.

Never been to the junior, but at the senior classic this year the ABs did NOT start with a 1-1 count. It was just normal, except that if an inning got through 6 batters without recording 3 outs, they rolled the inning. And the games went for 2 and 1/2 hours and then dropped dead. So get the other team out 3 up and 3 down, and send 6 guys to the plate every inning and your team will twice as many ABs.

Pardon my ignorance, but what’s the point of a tournament like that? Is there some point other than trying to determine the best team?

The point is for college coaches to see kids they are interested in pitch, hit, run, and field. I should have mentioned, no one is keeping score, either.

Team California.

Echo everything 2019Dad wrote. Expect about 60 colleges there, maybe more as some are there anonymously, I've heard. If  you have a stud pitcher throwing 90+ on your team, or opposing you, then there will be lots of eyes on your game. But the best bet is to have made contact with coaches before you get there so they know that your son will be there.

Hustle, stay positive, bring a big hat and those cooling towels for your son's neck. Of course, you're from Texas so the Phoenix heat probably won't mean much to you!
