My daughter has finished all prerequisites and searching out a nursing school to pursue a BS.  So many schools are impacted, it is becoming a difficult search.  I was asking her if she had tried any message boards for insight and described what a great resource HSBBW is for baseball/college.  She is not aware of any such thing.  By chance, anyone in the HSBBW family have any insight?

I am retired RN due to illness. When I attended it was difficult to get in and very competitive but nurses were in demand.

I was a single mom so went the junior college route at Sac city which is an excellent program. I then went  to Sacramento state few years back and finished my BS.

Lots of good programs. Get in even to a JC because it's easier to go rn to BSN .

Check out some of the private schools and programs.

cabbage - there is a very good nursing program at our "local" community college (Germanna Community College).  The main campus is near Locust Grove, VA with additional campuses in Fredericksburg, VA and Culpeper, VA.  From what I hear it's pretty tough.  Many of those that graduate transfer to Mary Washington University (another very good college) to complete their Bachelors.

The only downfall is they are located here on the east coast and you are in CA.

Thanks all!  She is currently in CA but interested in the Denver area.  As I mentioned, she has all or near all prerequisites covered via JC - wanting to get bachelors.  She is in CA but interested in the Denver area.   That said, she is quickly learning of just how impacted things are and willing to go anywhere that she can get in and done more quickly.

I will check and get back to you. I do know that there are a number of programs in TX and that there continues to be high demand there. I would also suggest she look at a path that takes her from a BS to a PA also. A BS is now becoming the norm in nursing so she is taking the right approach.
