Just left Park City, Utah, playing in he TCS WS. My son just played his final game on the youth sized field (50/70), moving from 12U to 13U.  Its a little bittersweet. I'm looking forward to seeing where he goes form here and how he grows however, I couldn't help but get a lump in my throat as we drove past the small field we always worked at ever since he started playing at four years old. I couldn't count how many BP balls I threw to him there and how many fly balls and grounders he took from me. Time is truly flying by far too fast for me.

The memories never fade. it's been twenty years since my daughter (the oldest) played her first softball game. I can still see it like it was yesterday. It's been ten years since my son played LL. I still get a warm feeling whenever I drive by the field. Last year I was walking around my preteen hometown. Even though the LL has relocated I stood where home plate used to be. I could feel the memories. the memories are there even though all three of us play(ed) college ball.

12 yr baseball might be the greatest season in most kids lives, it is fairly straight forward, you for the most part are playing with your friends, winning is the common goal, you can do things on the field you won't be able to do again until you are 16 or 18 if you ever can do them again....the new chapter will have it own excitement and new goals most certainly different goals at times but it is all part of the ride!

learn enjoy where you are at the momment because things can change quickly moving forward and you will not have near the control level of your child in the coming years as you do now!
