Why do they all swing the Voodoo? Seems like with the Demarini colleges, you might see one guy swinging a CF7 and the other 8 swing the Voodoo. Usually, all 9 are swinging the Voodoo. Never see a Vexxum or Insane.

With other manufacturers, you'll see guys swinging different models, but with Demarini, there seems to be a nearly 100% following for this one model. Just wondering?

Good question, and I've noticed the same thing.  I think players select bats for one or both of two reasons: They like the feel, or they think it has more pop.  The Voodoo has had the pop perception for some time.  As for feel, my kid doesn't like the flex that the Voodoo and some other 2-piece bats have.  But maybe the flex contributes to the perception of pop?

The bat isn't all that important if you can play the game. Otherwise, players would get to pick their bats. That, and the bat contract the coach gets. My son swung nothing but an EXO from 13u through high school. Then he had a choice of a Demarini, a Demarini or a Demarini. He chose the Demarini. He had seen Voodoos in the bat rack in high school and travel. So he started using it.

He used a Demarini F2 when he was eleven and twelve. It was the "in" bat then. Kids will use whatever is in. What's in? Look and see who's mashing the ball. That bat will become the local in bat.

A couple of years ago, I was at a showcase on a college campus - Demarini school. They had a rack of used bats for sale at the concession stand, and all were Voodoos. None of the other models were available, so maybe that's all that Demarini provided. If so, I've answered my own question.

Schools is Rawlings now, so maybe they were getting rid of all the Demarinis.

Ah....the college bat contract dilema for kids.   My son's school uses Louisville Slugger.....out of all the available bats, that's the one he NEVER liked growing up.  He wasn't happy about it...but what choice did he have right???    He had used Marucci his first 3 years of HS...and had hit well.   He switched to Louisville  for his senior year in HS as he could get used to it.  Hit .478 and 4 HR's & 2K's.    I guess they must be ok

My family had the same discussion when we watched our local D1 play a couple weeks ago. It's a DeMarini school and only the lead off hitter swings a CF8. All the rest swing Voodoo.

My son is a Demarini kid and prefers the CF series. He doesn't like the end loaded feel of the Voodoo, but I guess he's in the minority. I would love for him to switch to the Voodoo. It's a lot cheaper. At the college level, I don't imagine it makes much of a real difference. If you can hit, you can hit with any bat.

College players like the Voodoo bc it is aluminum alloy and a lot stiffer with end load as opposed to the CF8 that has good amount of flex and balanced. Voodoos also last longer bc of the thicker more durable aluminum, this is why you see guys able to use these bats still. Nothing against the CF8, but it has thinner walls which gives it good pop yet doesn't last as long with the thinner surface, so you won't see many guys swinging a CF8 after a couple years of use. Say a guy is swinging a 2013 Voodoo his freshman year and loves it, if he practices with the 13' Voodoo and has a great familiarity with it and it last, then why switch?  Same reason the 515 still being used but not much of the 715 or 915 they use 716/916(newer). Aluminum is also heavier so guys want to swing something under the vendor their school uses that has some pop, but would make the transition easier to wood if they are lucky enough to get to the next level.
