Have you seen this video?  Crazy double play.

But I thought if the ball hits the umpire inside the diamond it was a dead ball unless a fielder had a chance to make a play with the pitcher being an exception (I'm also basically talking what I know from Fed Rules).  Since this is OBR would it be different or am I just not remembering the rule correctly?

Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude. Thomas Jefferson

You're misremembering slightly, but you are close...if the ball had not touched the pitcher, this would be a dead ball, BR is awarded first, and runners advance if forced. However, if the ball touches a fielder, or if it has passed a fielder other than the pitcher, then the ball remains live and play it as it is.

The ruling is the same in all codes.

Ah that makes sense about hitting the pitcher.  Didn't take that into consideration.  Thanks

Bballman I would think it's just a 1-6-3 but I would probably put it down as 1-U-6-3 just so everyone would remember the play LOL.
