And, the definition of "on it's own" means that the ball had sufficient momentum to go OOB -- the kick can change the direction without changing the award.

 

(IOW, if the ball had hit a rock and made a 90* turn toward the fence / deadball line, would the ball have reached the line?  If so, TOP; if not TOK.)
