I do not know much about Defiance but I know Musky Well.

Baseball wise they are usually in the second tier of the OAC they usually hover somewhere just under .500. The OAC is a tough conference for Baseball. National Contender Marietta, usually leads the way. But a couple of years ago the OAC had 4 teams make it to regional which is unheard of. So it is a tough conference to play in.

Physically they usually are on the smaller side but very quick. Not much power but hit reasonably well. Lots of line drive hitters. They play against many of the NCAC teams every year. They always played my sons team OWU, very hard. He usually played against them twice a year once early in the spring and once late in the year. They do go down to Florida every year and usually play in the Russ Matt invitational.

If your son likes Rural, Muskingum could be for him. Small school in a small town. Academically similar to the other schools in the conference. Not terribly difficult to get into.

Defiance is similar as far as record goes, they play in the HCAC and while not as strong as the OAC, ther is some good competition. There record is usually somewhere below .500. My sone has never played against them and I do not follow the HCAC much so that is what I got.
