The RC is letting my son know when and where to submit each step and if it is a form for him or a form for us.
I'd ask the RC. My sons has been a wealth of information and always open to questions/clarifications.
We definitely let the coach know as soon as the application went in. I would assume it was automatic that a player's name would be on a list but we were not leaving anything to chance!

Yes and yes. Over communication is never a bad thing in this situation.
Son communicated to RC when application went in. RC gave a step by step process to recruits who were also given a special envelope to send material into admissions.
Same as others, son called head coach to let him know. Zero downside.
