no, definitely not.

Nope.  Hudson vs Guthrie.  Each of their respective pitching leashes can be measured in nanometers.  We will see an assortment of pitchers and pitching matchups.  I fully expect to see Madbum and Shields in relief.

Guthrie fully rested is probably better than Shields on short rest.  As for MadBum, unless Hudson is pitching an absolute gem, which is an iffy prospect, I suspect we'll see him in there either the second or third time through the lineup.

You go with your guys scheduled. But it's literally all hands on deck. 

I'm a Royals fan and wouldn't want to see it, but I think, if I'm SF, I start Bum and let him go as long as he is effective. For them, the strategy has to be to shut the Royals down for three or four inning, get the lead, and hold it into the seventh. Personally, I'm giddy over the Guthrie/Hudson matchup. I think that by the time the Giants get around to using Bumgarner, it may be too late. If I'm the Royals, though, I don't start Shields. Right now, Guthrie is as good as or better than Shields in this spot.

You may be right. But I don't think anybody knows what MadBum looks like on 2 days rest.  There's a good chance he looks more Bum than Mad.  

And of all the Giants starters not named MadBum, Hudson has looked the best.   That's not saying  much, I know. 

Nice piece here on the upside of Bumgarner starting tonight.  I'm pretty much convinced. 

But my vote doesn't count.
