Man, it seems like yesterday that my son was vying to make Varsity as a Freshman. HE made "swing" and got to play several games with the Varsity that year but mainly played JV. Now, as of last night and the loss to Walton in the Semis, we find ourselves looking back a bit but really focusing on the future. We leave for Seattle Monday and he gets to throw an inning at their Pre-Draft workout in front of all the management. I'm sure we will have a blast supporting him there. It will be our last trip together till we "install" him at Clemson in mid June. Boy, how time flies. I always heard about how it would and i really tried to slow things down this year and see most of his games. All the sports networks can say whatever they want about baseball and its lack of ratings/popularity, i love the game and look forward to watching him get a chance to play at the next level.

"Half-Time" for us as son completes soph year.

4Ks, have enjoyed your posts over the past two years I've been reading HSBBWeb.  Your son's story is an important one, especially for a "late blooming" pitcher in regards to recruiting and committing.  I've learned a good bit from your posts as my son tries to navigate the recruiting course.  Hopefully he can learn from your son's SUCCESFUL recruiting story.  Thanks for sharing the journey with this community.

Good luck in Seattle.  Wow, can't imagine?

The recruiting process is quite a roller coaster if your kid isn't a blue chipper or isn't the prototypical frame they want...stay positive and outwork everyone else. Seattle is going to be awesome and as we prepare to leave next week, I couldn't help but think of the draft. I saw the PG 1-500 draft pick rankings that just came out and it was interesting. Disclaimer: To be in the PF Top 500 is pretty cool. I have friends who have kids who i think are better than mine and they aren't in it as well as kids who are , IMHO big time potential MLBers that must be ranked low in the ranking due to college/signability...so i think i get it. I am excited to see if he shows better than their ranking and/or IF he even gets drafted. We are going fishing that day and will keep the phones on.
