I ask that no team from this day forward use these words in the name of the team:

SELECT

PREMIER

PREMIERE

ELITE

TOP

TOP TIER

PROSPECTS

EXPOSURE

CLASSIC

CLASSICS

I want a location followed by a noun.  Something like the Green Bay Sturgeons.

That is all.  Feel free to add your own.

"Prospects" and "exposure" are nouns, so let's refine your standard to "a location followed a noun amenable to illustration with a caricature or cartoon figure."

P.S. Anyone who offers a cartoon illustration of "exposure" will jeopardize his posting privileges!

This is to funny. Quick story, my son's 17u team was called the Tipp City Raptors. Of course, as you all know that is the big recruiting year. Lots of boys on that team ended up playing in college (I think 14 of 16). We were a two age team (17u and 15u that year, connected because of the founders had kids on both teams, no organization. The next year we became the Miami Valley Prospects because they wanted to become an organization. the then 18u team laughed all year being called the Prospects. some moms wanted to change it to the Committed, since they already were

HRCJR,

Based on your formula of location and noun, I think some of us will run into some trouble with some of these cities and towns (link below).

I'm partial to Bumpass, VA as it is within shouting distance.  I've run a few Bumpass travel baseball team names by my wife, and was quickly shot down.  Bumpass Kickers just isn't getting any justice at the dinner table.

Palmetto Sand Gnats - Loved that name. And they were good too. Then there were the "Old Providence Mud Dawgs" They were pretty darn good as well. I always loved the names of teams that identified with a community or area. And you can get away with a kind of funky name if your really good. But it doesn't always go like that.

I agree the "Elite" "Future" "Prospects" those names I never could get.

We were, in youth ball, the Golden Gophers. Whenever we traveled, people assumed we were from Minnesota. Nope. Golden, Colorado.

Coming up through youth ball, there was a very good team in the area known as the Brighton Bulldogs (this was the high school name). This was a USSSA major team. A couple of years later, there was another team formed from the town. This team was not very good and played mostly at the AA level. They took the name Brighton Bulldogs Elite. A little confusing.
