Son was awarded freshman pitcher of year for Horizon League. Currently 7-0 with 2.22 ERA. He was one of 11 players on his team that was awarded for 1st, 2nd and freshman teams of league. Tournament starts today and they play tomorrow.

Here is hoping for a great 3 games, sweep thru the tournament and off to NCCA D1 tournament.

Here is hoping for the opportunity for a max of 5 losses. One in league tournament, 1 in opening round NCAA, 1 in Super regionals and 2 in CWS (0 or 1 would be preferable)

Congratulations!  That's just awesome.

The one thing that I have learned, that the road to Omaha isn't as easy as some think it is. I didn't realize it until son was in college.

So just sit back and relax and enjoy the ride, every game should be enjoyable, win or lose. Best of luck!

Amen Barb! If they make it to Omaha it would be another Stonybrook from a couple years ago. Certainly possible and they have proven they can play with the big boys, but would still be an underdog. I was / am dreaming .

As of moment D1baseball has them going to Stillwater OK. Never been to OK

On other hand, need to win in Whiting Indiana first

BIG congrats! From the sound of the responses it is well deserved from performance and throuh the journey on this site. I hope that he has an opportunity to enjoy the accomplishment (after the season) and good luck with remaining games. As cool as this award is I hope he works harder to accomplish more. Don't let satisfaction of this year undermine success next year, keep working, getting better and getting every bit of talent out of himself. Love hearing of guys realizing success because the game and circumstances of the game can leave some without the opportunity to experience what your son is. Awesome for a parent to get to experience it as well. You've had a big part in it. Best of luck
