launch angle is the newest craze out there in mlb broadcasts. statcast is out for the second year now and stats have shown that around plus 10 to plus 30 degrees is most productive. there have been quite a few major leaguers who got more productive by raising launch angle.

do you work on optimizing launch angle and how do you do it?

Launch angle became more visible and the talked subject, with the "launch" of Zepp.  It provides immediate feedback of your launch angle.  It's kind of cool, it tells you the ideal angle you should be on, and by default, you'll figure out if your mechanics need to be refined.

Dom, you were likely aware of Zepp... kind of a fine line of paying attention to detail and not allowing the hitter to get to mechanical.   The instructors at our facility are stubbornly opposed to Zepp; I'm kind of surprised they're not receptive to technology which could aid their instruction and help players.....  Concerns over being too mechanical I'd assume....

I have a zepp but zepp doesn't show launch angle but attack angle. A positive attack angle increases the chance of a good launch angle but it is also about where you hit the ball. You can attack the ball at plus 20 and still hit the top of the ball and hit a grounder.

to measure launch angle to need a hit trax or something like that.
