What surprises me is the number of times (8 of the last 10) the home team comes home down 3-2 and wins both games. At this level of play I would think the visiting team should be able to win one of two at least half the time.

If an ace pitches game one and five as Bumgarner did, the home team avoids the ace in games six and seven. The ace could have been the equalizer.

RJM had it right along the whole way!  WOW!

As a rabid Royals fan since 1975, I find it hard to be disappointed. I was. It lasted about 15seconds. I can only hope it won't be another 29 years before we're back.

I really wanted to see them send Gordo home on that last one. Would he have been thrown out? Probably. Still, it would have been going down in a way that we would talk about for decades.

Best World Series? 7-1, 7-2, 11-4, 10-0. There have been two good games. The only thing that makes it good is going seven games.

RJM - Here's what I saw:

It went 7 and the last game was a down to the last out affair - dynasty confirmed in SF - KC Franchise back from the wilderness - it was the back and forth series (4 changes in advantage) - there were break out stars everywhere and young stars confirmed.  IMO it had more interesting things going than anything MLB has put out there in the WS in a long time.

It was 1960's style baseball for the most part by two teams that generally are built around pitching and defense.  On offense execute good AB's, take bases if you can (2 tags on fly balls to left field in a Game 7 - amazing) with occasional power only 5 total home runs by both teams in the series.

I agreed with RJM's quote whole heartedly.  With that said, Game 7 was pretty darn exciting to watch.  Bumgarner is a Beast and a Cool Customer....but let's not for forget about what a great series Pence, Panda, and the D up the middle with Crawford & Panik.  I seriously hate watching the Giants do so well, but the magic of "Team Chemistry" always surfaces with these guys, and Bruce Bochy is the main reason IMHO.

Chin up!  Rumor has it you're getting our other big lefty.  The one who plays third.

(That's gonna be an issue..... I wonder if Susac can play 3b..?)
