NH all state

According the the NH High School Baseball Coaches Association website, selections were made May 24th. Here is where I found the info:

The teams were picked but have not been released to the public yet. Not sure why that is, but that is how it has been.

Any idea when they may release them? I am curious.

The Portsmouth Coach announced the Portsmouth Selections in Class I at our Senior Night Cookout yesterday. Jack Gonsalves (3rd Team), Peter Bergeron (2nd Team), Mike Fransoso, Nate Jones and Mike Montville (1st Team).

Trinity:
3rd Team- Nick Nalette
1st Team- Dylan Clark, Sean Lyons, Connor Lyons, Garrett Cole

Class L POY: Dylan Clark

Any word on when they might put out these lists? I know some coaches have told their players if they made it but anyone know when they might put the lists for all four class's up?

Last year it was right around this time. Looking back..the Telegraph had it on June 7th. Maybe they wait until the final 4 is in progress. Two years ago, I believe it came out after the finals. Not sure the NHIAA actually has a plan as to when it comes out. Heck, the coaches put in their votes for Player of the Year around May 15th when the season was just starting to brew. Makes no sense to me, but that is the NHIAA.

Don't the newspapers do their own lists? Last year I found several lists and they were not all the same.

Most papers only post their subscriber area players that are on the list. But then The Union Leader does their own team of 10 statewide players and the Portsmouth paper does a Dream Team which only includes kids on the coast that they sell papers to.

Has anyone seen a listing of the selections anywhere in print?

Our coach told us that we had 5 kids on the list, 2 seniors on 1st team, 2 juniors on 2nd team, and 1 sohpmore on 3rd team. But I haven't seen it posted anywhere. The team would be Kennett, Class I.

Any of the coaches on here have any idea when they will put the lists out?

I would like to see any of these lists when the become available, if anyone comes across any of them please share with the rest of us.

I know the lists are done but I have no idea why they have not been released yet. Of course this is par-for-the-course for newspaper coverage of high school baseball this year. Weak.

I've been looking to no avail, also. I'll post a link if it ever comes up.

I wish they waited until the end of the regular season to vote, rather than 2-3 weeks left. If they did that, there would have been some player movement. Still do not know why they wait so long to release. Kinda dumb. By the time it comes out there is dwindled interest which is too bad for the deserving players.

If anyone wants to slip me those lists I'll break the news.

Baseball

Londonderry senior Kyle Neverman (SS/P) was named to the Class L All-State First Team. He was joined by teammates senior Sean Caron (OF) and sophomore Kasey Carollo (P). The Second Team includes junior Zach Mathieu (C) of Pinkerton, and junior Dan Lagasse (3B/P) of Londonderry. The Third Team includes junior Jake Finnegan (P) and senior Brian Finnegan (2B/P) of Londonderry.



Six All-Staters....Depth wins.

All were deserving. I believe Trinity had 5 or 6 as well.

Unofficially...Trinity - Five. D. Clark(POY-Class L), G. Cole, S. Lyons, C. Lyons 1st team.

Nick Nalette, C, 3rd Team.

I believe that through the selection process Chris Crutcher was overlooked.

He was also a third team all state selection in 2008.

100% agree on Crutcher, he deserved it.

Ryan DeCotis should have been considered for all state . 5-1 record. His only loss was his last game trying to pitch with a broken foot. Lasting one inning.
He one hit Keene and handed them their only home loss. He pitched a four hitter and handed goffstown there first loss of the season. Without him at the end South's hopes of a title were dashed.....

No Decotis? I wish we could see the list.

Not too mention that Crutcher hit .328 with 12 Rbi's for a final four team.....he definitely got overlooked this year after being named last year.

Sounds like an oversight. He is a good player.

I guess he's the first on our official "Overlooked & Deserving" list.

We still don't have a full list though right? from all classes?

I emailed the Telegraph asking if they had the lists and if they did could they publish it or send it back to me in an email. Now to see if they respond back or not.

I just got an email from the NH Coach responsible for distributing the list to the media. He indicated he sent it to 8 newspapers more then a week ago. He is faxing it to me tomorrow. If that happens I will post when I get it.

I also emailed the Telegraph a few days ago but have not heard.

DeCotis also batted .345 with 7 rbi's and a home run. All snubed team looking good

DeCotis was good, but was he any better than the other boys put on teams? Tough to justify.

Who were the other guys?

Just got the list. Much of it is hand written by Class so I will be making it forum friendly over the weekend.

Hey guys, as I look at the list I was faxed and the names many of you indicated were told had been notified of their selection I noticed some differences. The lists do not match.

I am going to hang onto these lists as I am nervous they are not the final draft.

I would rather wait till the NH COach's site gets updated.

There was a list of players today for all state in the Manchester Union Leader today.

I looked on the Union Leader Sports website and did not see the article. If you could copy the names or copy the link into the Post I think everyone would be happy to see it. Was it possible it was only in the hardcopy newspapers distributed.

This is just their all-state team....they listed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd team below this as well but it is far too many names for me to write down.

I remember last year when we were looking for this information it seemed each paper had its own list. We didn't see the real list until it was posted on the new hampshire highschool baseball coaches site and that didn't happen for some time. Infact we had stopped looking and waiting for it and found it this spring.

Think the UL got the top 10 right?

I think it's pretty accurate. A couple of players that could have made it may be.....Sean Caron & Garret Cole??

Tough when they only pick 10, including 2 pitchers. There is really not anyone who made the UL 1st team that is not very deserving of the recognition. The POY could have gone to a number of kids. Montville is a good pick. My method would be to put about 7 names on the wall and throw a dart to pick one.

Hoping next year's season is as fun and balanced as this year. Still wish Portsmouth was in Class L. Maybe they could scrimmage Goffstown, Londonderry & Keene next year for fun.

how much is portsmouth losing this year?

I'm not sure, except for Fransoso, who is very, very good. Portsmouth s/b good again next year.

I want to give a big recommendation for Connor Lyons of Trinity. He and my son are here in East Cobb playing and I have had the pleasure of watching Connor in their 6 pool games. This kid is a player!!!!

Going into today he was 7 for 12 from the lead off spot. He is a terror on the bases - he creates havoc for the other team. Today he struggled in his first 3 at bats but singled with the bases loaded to end the game.

I was with him last night and he is confused why he has not received more attention by colleges. All I can say is these college coaches are missing the chance to get a quality player and quality person.

He hits, runs down balls in the outfield and is blazing fast. What are these coaches thinking!!

Connor Lyons certainly deserves the attention of more college players. I have seen him play 5 or so times this past year, and NHMonty you are right on. The kid can play.

I think there alot of kids out there that can play. Being from the North Country kids don't much or any exposure. There are few from Kennett HS, and the Sr. Babe Ruth team from Lisbon has some very good players on it, from Lisbon, Lancaster, Berlin, and Gorham. I know that from the Conway area that next season we will see most, if not all the players heading to Plymouth to play Legion ball. Our area is not big enough to support a Legion team, and we are always calling up 15's for the Sr. Babe Ruth team. It will be intresting to see how they fair with the players from the southern area.

I still have not seen a full list of all classes All-State lists from this season but right from picking from the partial lists I have seen I have found 27 players from the 2008 Showcase roster that have been named all state. I have the list going at www.nhbaseball.org under 2008 roster.

The best players really do play in this league, if you're looking for some competition and to play against NH's best this is where you need to be this fall.

Anyone know when this all state list is coming out, I still have not seen it?

does this list exist? i heard that players were told, but was there a list printed?

It is supposed to be printed in the Union leader. This year they did print it, but in the box-score section.
For the upcoming year I am going to push to have it posted on the coaches association web-site. Also, if my fellow L coaches are ok with it, then I would like to post the list on these boards- but I don't know how well that will be recieved.

Shipbuilder, I do not know why it is kept under wraps except perhaps as a courtesy to the Union Leader.
This year myself and a few other coaches are going to continue to suggest some changes to the overall format. Three teams are too many, takes away from the overall honor of it all.
I would suggest two teams and honorable mention. I doubt changes will be made, but it is an argument worth continuing (it has been argued before at these meetings).
