Nokona/2015 Baseball Gloves...

Son uses Rawlings Pro Preferred for his outfield and pitching glove. I think the outfield glove is 12.75, trapeze model. He has used it for 3 years and it has held up great.

Years ago son used a Nokona 1B glove. It was a beautiful glove but he didn't like it at all and pretty quickly went back to a Rawlings, before the season even ended.

Now that we're on the topic of gloves. My 2017 is an infielder and for the past few months I've been looking for a 11.25" tan colored glove but I can't seem to find one. Wilson has the one we're looking for but it's a size bigger than what he wants. Any ideas?

My son has used Akadema for the past 5 or 6 years.  He'll have to switch to Louisville Slugger for college...as his team is a Louisville sponsored school....not sure he's going to be happy with it.  Probably pick up a Louisville for next sprin/summer just to get him used to it before he heads to college in the fall

My son is a CF and uses the Nokona Bloodline. He loves it.  Their customer service is unbelievable.  He also has an older softer skin kangaroo version he uses for infield. He sent the glove back in the off-season for relacing and a small tear.  Nokona sent it back completely relined, restuffed, laces, repaired at no charge. 

Both #9 and #7 use Nokona gloves, both are pitchers.  They have held up very well and I especially like 9's Nokona.  His college next fall is a Wilson school so it looks like he'll be changing to an A2000.  I'll be interested to see how he likes it.

Son went from the Rawlings Pro Preferred to the Wilson A2K. He is a MIF and the Wilson has held it's shape much better than the Rawlings. The Wilson gloves are smaller than the similar sized Rawlings, or so they seem. Someone told me that the are measured differently, but I have no idea if this is true.    

You desire to check where the glove is made.

Nakona and a few are USA made. The others are made in South China.

Many years ago in Osaka Japan I watched a family make custom gloves for SSK.

They make only 10 per day. An amazing process.

My kid loves his Rawlings HOH IF glove and he also likes his A2000 OF glove.  The HOH is only about a year old and it's developing a tear in the pocket so I'll need to shell out some money very soon.  I guess either he plays a whole lot or that leather is too soft to begin with.

 

Just have to find a time when we have reason to be near San Leandro and go to West Coast.

 

(Nor Cal  peeps will know what I'm talking about.  West Coast is an amazing baseball warehouse store that undercuts any price you can find online by at least 20%.  But no website, and it can take forever to pay up and get out of there.  Also the best place around to get your team unis printed.)

My 2 oldest sons have custom ordered 44 gloves.  They seem nice so far, the only issue with one of them is the lacing, which is baby blue, faded out very quickly.  After talking to their customer service, seems maybe they ran into a dye problem.  But, they are asking for the glove back and will be replacing anything of that color on the glove.  The glove itself seems very durable and high quality, so far so good.  

Lefthookdad, would you recomended a 44 glove as I'm quite intrigued by them. The prices seem great and I love the full customization feature. I'm an outfielder and like either this or an A2K kp92.

I can say that I do like the feel of the glove, is is a little heavier, but very stiff and needs to be broken in, but I like this because you can form it to your preference.  It also seems durable.  I like the customization factor, righthook customized his with the mesh digital backing, witch did cut the weight a little.  So, as of now I really can't say anything bad about them.  I know they rely heavily on word of mouth advertising, and they are willing to correct an issue immediately, so props on customer service so far.  It takes about 5 weeks for a custom ordered glove.  I was due for a new glove a cpl of weeks ago and considered ordering one as an early x-mas gift to myself, until I found an early model A2000 in a box full of old gloves that were donated to my school for PE by a church.  It was barely used and needs breaking in......and before anyone busts my chops, I donated one of my lefty zcat A2000's as a swap....lol
