First time for my 2017.

Is anyone familiar with how the check in process works in these perfect game tournaments. My son will be going to Ft Myers this coming weekend of the 9th. I'm interested in where they may be checking in, times and just general info.

Thank you.

No check in for WWBA and other tournaments is required.  Just coordinate with his coach and show up ready to play.  All the check-in, roster finalization, etc. is done by the coach and/or online in advance.  Individal check-in is only required for Showcases.

Edit:  Here is the tournament link.  This may be what you are looking for.  Click around on the menu for teams, rosters, locations, schedules, etc.  http://perfectgame.org/events/Default.aspx?event=2994

When I booked for teams, I would use their booking service.  When I was booking my (and player's) rooms (i.e., not going as a team), I would always rent my own house or room outside of their system.

I will say that we once had trouble booking (as a team) through their site, so we booked team rooms outside of their service.  I was contacted a short time before the tournament began and forced to pay a few hundred dollars in additional fees for not doing so.  I don't recall if it was $200 or something more, but $200 rings a bell.

You are "supposed" to.  I'm not a big fan of having to pay for a tourney and then book through them for a hotel, but it does make it easier to get large blocks of rooms so that teams can stay together.  The only issue we have had in the past was when the parents weren't happy with the hotel we were assigned to, and reserved rooms at another.  It was another hotel on the Lee County list, but we didn't go through them. Our coach got a "please don't do that" from PG, but I don't think there were any additional fees.
