2012 attended the PG Academic Showcase in the month of June.  Can't speak to the Fall.

That June, there were a fair amount of coaches present.  Though not on par with Headfirst or other "academic" showcases.  Also, a coach list was not available / provided.  2012 inquired of coaches at schools of interest to him prior to going.

That said, the primary benefit IMHO is the player assessed by the PG staff and receiving a rating.  That review is excellent 3rd party feedback from reviewers who see thousands of players.  So it's beneficial to the player to understand their strengths and weaknesses relative to their peers.  It's also beneficial to coaches as a PG rating/review is seen as a trusted, independent 3rd party assessment.

Very timely post from the OP. Just thinking about the PG Academic in October yesterday for my 2018. Wondering about college coaches being present given that school is in session, but I think Branson makes a great point - my son has never been to a PG event and maybe the benefit is more about getting an evaluation and rating on this one versus a large number of coaches being present? Maybe PG Staff can chime in....
