And I'll take all these announcers over Brent Musburger any day of the week.  He's more nauseating than chopped pork.

"You're looking livvvvveeeee at the best BBQ on the planet!"

+1 on Brent

On a side note, i guess i'm falling out of the demo for this but the "sideline or on the field" .."he said, she said" reporting nauseates me as well.

BOF,

A tip regarding Phil's BBQ in San Diego.  Every day a line forms about a block long just to get in.  Now when we are in San Diego, we order over the phone (take out).  Then you can walk past the line and pick up your order. Ask for extra sauce because it is some of the best ever.

I've heard they opened up a couple other places.  Can't recommend the others as I haven't tried them.  The one I highly recommend is on Sports Arena Boulevard in San Diego.  Can find it on google.

Thanks PG my folks live in SD so I get down there every 3 mos +/- so will go check them out and report back.

Franklin's in Austin TX is the same deal, but people line up in the morning and they sell until they are sold out, usually by early afternoon.

Try Black's in Austin.  Pretty close to Franklin's and the same if not better.  And there is no line, which is a bonus.

30 miles east of Austin...Southside Market & BBQ in Elgin Texas is great. Home of original Texas "Hot Guts", wrapped in brown paper. My birth home! I grew up on Elgin sausage! Still can see gran'pa stoking an open pit in the ground with an old metal grate. Add potato salad & pintos & green onions, Buttercrust bread & sweet tea! Finish it off with home grown Black Diamond watermelon slices!

re Phil's in SunDiego. The one in Santee is just as good as the one on Sports Arena. And, if you like their sauce, they've been selling it at Costco for awhile now. Probably not at all Costcos.  Like we can't get Poke at our local Costco but could at the Kahala Costco while in Hawaii. (sorry WAY off topic).

On topic: How hard could it be to have a paragraph or 3 about ALL the players at the CWS? Announcers should be better conversationalists/journalists/commentators than the ones I heard.

We don't deserve BBQ as good as Phil's in SD.  Not my fave style, but really, really good.

As a left coaster I will abstain until the conversation turns to grilled v fried fish tacos.

So true and fried fish tacos... no brainer, duh. Damn I’m hungry 🍴

Steak, seafood and BBQ... I’m going to the grocery store tomorrow that’s for sure! What to cook is the real question now?
