My 2016 son has asked me - and I do not know - once you fill out a prospect questionnaire for a given school - do you fill them out again when new information surfaces (test scores, stats).  It seems with his email correspondance coaches often have as a routine part of their emails to complete the online questionnaire. If he has done that once at a younger age is that enough or do you update?  I suppose asking the coach would be appropriate but seems like just a bothersome question.

If you keep getting requests to complete the questionnaire every semester by the coach, usually its because both the coach and admissions are tracking son, and you really are a recruit! At an Ivy info night, the Admissions rep stated they make the requests to the coaches.   In my Son's experience he was cleared by admissions before the Official Visit, (that's 4 semesters before day 1 of senior year!)  and if not we requested it to save everyone time & dollars. Getting the coaches attention is half the battle, clearing admissions is the other.  We kept a large 3 ring binder tabbed by college and made a copy of all Questionnaires before sending, helped keep us organized & on track & reduced completion time on future requests .

Kbaker,

I'd suggest that your son send them any updates that he thinks they should factor into their current thinking about him. For example, up-to-date GPA and any honors or awards he's received, they'd probably want to know.

He can accomplish this by filling out only those portions of the questionnaire that are being updated; or he can send them an email message, telling them of the accomplishment(s).

He should also make certain that they receive his teams' upcoming schedules or showcase dates, so that they can make a point of seeing him when they can.

Best wishes for his success!
