Anyone have opinions about the Rawlings wood bats. Specifically the big stick maple.

I just bought one for my son and he liked it. He has another wood bat "Demarini pro maple", but he prefers the Rawlings big stick maple.
We had two this summer for my 13u's first season of wood bat ball. He broke the first one his first game so I bought one more for the next game - broke in his first at bat in the second game. We bought a different brand (can't remember which one) for game 3 and it lasted the rest of the season.
I should point out that he really like the Big Stick - the swing weight felt great to him (and me) but we had to try something else after the second one broke.

Try hitting it on the barrel....lol chandlers break to if u hit them poorly
Yep, I get it. Same player used another brand bat the rest of the year and did not break it. Same imperfect swing, different results.
His is older brother broke a chandler in June. That one was painful.
Which turn?
I have 33.5 Rawlings Big Stick Maple and I love it. Has a good feel and good pop as well.

+1 to the Demarini pro maple. No drop off in performance from metal to wood for son. Son loves balance in bat.
We picked up one several years ago (my son was 13 or 14) just to try. He broke it on the first swing...never bought another. He has had great luck with the Mizuno Pro Maple....played quite a few wood bat tourneys the past 4 summers and it's been by far the most durable of the bats we've seen (his or teemmates). A little pricey, but if you don't have to buy 4 or 5/summer it's not bad.
To discuss wood bat preferences without noting the turning model is providing half the information. There's a difference between, say, the LS I13 and the C271.

This video covers 4 different turns. A 243 is not usually a great model for a kid's first wood bat.

The 243 is Bonds model, great bat. Forces a hitter to place his bottom hand up the handle because of the taper. Long barrel. I have three SSK. 33".
