Hi everyone.  I am looking for a free site to input hs team stats for sons team.

Coach has game changer but keeps all stats private and probably for good reason. .

I am looking for something free and easy to use.

Are you the team scorer? If not, where are you going to get the numbers to put in?

I think it’s worth asking the coach why he doesn’t post stats. It’s entirely possible he doesn’t know how to do it.

Hi .

I am not the official scorer, but have all the games stats on game changer for each individual game.  I have one of those  $3 a month accounts there.  Maybe I could set up a imaginary team on GC- I will look into it.

Coach doesn't want the other teams to know their stats so they don't know how to pitch everyone against us ,as well as it keeps the kids(and parents) at bay and not have them try to have extra "stat" pressure, anxiety or whatever you would call it.

How would the other teams knowing your team’s stats let them know how to pitch to them?

I’ve been doin’ this stuff a good while now and the only extra "stat" pressure, anxiety or whatever you would call it comes when the coach isn’t communicating well. Other than that it’s a lot like so many states passing voter ID laws even though there’s no proof it’s a problem.

Why don't ya suggest to coach that families with GC accounts request 'family access' to their sons stats.  This way the player (& parents) have access, but nobody else does.

New coach this year, and another parent had to send the GC instructions to the coach on how to grant family access.  Funny thing about it is it looks as if the new coach granted family access to all the requests that came in - regardless of whether they are a family member or not.  One parent has family access to a kid currently on the team, and his son transferred to a nearby school last summer.

As stats noted, the coach may very well not know how to set it up on GC.

As others have said, there is a way to setup family access.  Thats the way our HS has their account setup.  When I used to keep the book for our travel team I ended up making all stats private.  Way too many parents would complain whenever I scored something that took a hit away from their kid.  Things like Errors, or FCs.  Used to get some complaints over the EB hit or taking a base on an over throw.  Way too many parents live and die by their kids stats.  I finally had enough and made them private.  Told them they could keep score if they wanted to.  No one took me up on the offer.

Funny thing is many of these folks have never seen a game scored properly.  They assumed that if you put the ball into play - (slower roller) booted by the SS and then over thrown 3 times to allow the runner to score - you score it as an HR.

What did you do to try to educate them?
