So are players getting invited straight to the Classic in Fla? There do not seem to be any of the earlier events (Challenge and Combine) scheduled for this summer for Virginia...

That is correct, they ran out of time. Invites were based on recommendations from coaches within a specific region for deserving players (as per Ben Ford).
This smells like a Barth money machine project...
