I was streaming the game at my son's game last night. It's cool to watch kids you know play in that atmosphere. A couple of those kids are from my son's club team. In fact, his club coach was there and posting lots of great pictures. Being around talent like Rutschman wears off on the younger kids. He is truly a special athlete. If OSU ever gets low on pitchers, they could always throw him out there for his 90+ stuff off the mound.

YoungGun - I hope the two teams get to play again on Friday. I think it will be a different game. Best of luck to your son.

I'm going to give a shout out to Kyle Boddy and Driveline here. OSU is a Driveline program and I believe they were pretty early adopters of some their stuff. Yeskie is an amazing pitching coach and has developed a top notch pitching program.

We've had a horrible winter and spring in the NW. Record snowfall and rain fall. It's not usually quite this bad, but the unofficial start to summer is July 5th. All the college fields around here are turf, so you learn to play in the rain. Heck, this year, we played in the hail a couple times.

Go Beavs!

Would love to see east vs west thing.

FSU vs OSU.

If FSU is ACC representation, I will too!

I spoke with a client in omaha today, i didnt realize opening ceremonies were canceled last week.

She told me that even though something is missing not being in Rosenblatt,   she loves this time of year, and I told we do too!

As a youth player my son hated it when the coaches called outside practice while it was snowing!

Everything on the West side of the state completely shuts down with even 1 inch of snow. It's pandemonium. You wouldn't even be able to get to practice if it were held. The East side of the state is another story. Contrary to popular belief, Eastern Washington & Oregon are dry, high deserts with very low amounts of rain fall. They do, however, get a lot of snow in the winter. They probably practice in the snow over there.

I am not adding in fans or crowds. I just enjoy OSU team this year. They are fun to watch.

Casey is tough and his players play old school grind it out baseball.

Plus I go for Pac 12 cause thats my sons conference. He thinks osu looks special as well. We will see

any team there is respected by me. Season is a grind and playoffs are funny because anything can happen.

When you see so many of these teans there every year thats a darn good program .

TPM, can you change the heading of this thread to "CWS-17" or something similar? This has become the defacto CWS thread and would allow others to potentially see it.

This is baseball at it's finest IMO, great players who are really enjoying the moment, and like FOG mentioned anything can happen.

Done!

Great read on Coach Martin. I love that guy. Ive read about him and followed him.  He is a class act.  If We had to do it over we would of looked more for a coach like this. He gets it all including the school part. Winning Omaha is the icing on a already great cake. Ive heard the experience alone is unforgettable. We need to hold these types of coaches and othere like him in high regard. Tim Corban and TCU coach and Virginias. There are others.

I do hope in my heart he wins it all beore he retires but he is great .

Just like watching Coastal coach win it last year was special.

I was just talking with my son last night when FSU was playing and we both really like Coach Martin. Ive watched him for years, his interviews, read about him. Hes one of my favorites.

Crazy story McDonald just told about Cal Ripken calling his games from SS.  Anybody ever heard of such a thing?

I think George Will wrote about Cal Ripken Jr doing it in Men at Work.

I read that 25 years ago  and completely forgot about that.

It's worth re-reading. I'm overdue myself.

FSU was eliminated last night. I am not a fan of MM, but kudos to him for going out on top as ACC Champs and making it to Omaha.

I just hope we can have some back and forth games and some late inning drama. It just seems one team gets the lead and it pretty much is over after that. OSU is really good. Don't beat themselves and they make things happen. What they have accomplished this year is simply amazing. That record is insane. I hope LSU wins and TCU wins so we can watch a couple of extra games.

LSU beat OSU, no one is unbeatable. Its anyones game. Both face elimination tomorrow.

I thought Louisville would come close, but they play better at home.

So with the ACC teams eliminated, got to go with Florida.

Some of us are still at work waiting to watch it on the DVR...
