PG....ok, I was able to find some information on him. Problem was his first name was spelled incorrectly on track man! I am on the road at another tournament this weekend so accessing trackman website via phone is not optimal but I was able to see his max velos and spin rates but should I be able to see more than that? I sent you a PM with his game specifics....I would love to see as much data as there exists so I can discuss with his pitching coach. Thanks again!

Some other matters about Trackman stats.  A curveball at 73 mph might be ranked 60th percentile, while an average curveball at 73 mph ranked nearly 90th.  It says that most players can't throw consistent curveballs.   Also, a curveball or change up velocity maybe rated 85th percentile, but that can be a sort of worthless statistic since they are more effective if there is a good difference in speed from the fastball.  Unless, of course, it's a slider.

@PGStaff - I just emailed the staff@pg as you recommended and hopefully record can be corrected. Son relieved/closed 7th inning and I checked back and still is not correct on Trackman, but PG box for that game is. sent links to both pages to show the discrepancy. Hopefully can be corrected. Thanks again -

ENJOYING THE RIDE,

Why wouldn't you notify us, we like to know when we make a mistake?  Or does it just make you feel better to bring it up here?  I mean if your son has statistics that have disappeared, wouldn't you want that fixed if possible?

If your son is a PO wouldn't you want those hitting stats to be corrected so your sons teammate who actually did get those hits would receive credit for them?  As I mentioned earlier we have several ways of checking things when a mistake is brought up.

Fact is I can't dispute or repair what you are saying because I have no idea what you're talking about. But most parents would want a mistake corrected rather than just let it go and post about it on a message board.

Ok, I have found my sons data from Lake Pointe! I was hating that we were going to miss that data after getting the opportunity to pitch there. Where his trackman stuff didn't show on the live scoreboard we assumed it wasn't running at our field....wrong assumption on my part! To make it seem I was right, I couldn't find his name listed anywhere and that was due to his name being misspelled, but not with a common misspelling so I couldn't find him. Long of it is I was incorrect in my post about only some fields at lake pointe having track man! Really awesome data there and we learned a lot about how he threw that day, and since he is only 15, we have data to compare when he returns to LP....thanks so much to PG and others on the board for helping me find his data!!

I recall eagerly waiting for Trackman stats to be published for Jupiter a few years ago. As i finally found the stats i did not see my son's listed anywhere. I had paid for the Trackman service which showed me spin rate and velo per pitch, i had recorded those via my IPAD Air and he should have ben somewhere near the top.

Well.....let me tell you, i immediately emailed the folks and asked about my son's stats and why they weren't up for the world to see only to be told, Sir you are looking at last year's tournament stats, this year's will be up soon.

I felt and still feel a bit queezy when recalling and telling this story.

Most of the time they get it right the first time and they will correct what they miss.

ENJOYING THE RIDE,

No problem, I'm used to being offended.

It's just that often issues can be solved if we know what they are.  Not always, but sometimes these things are easy fixes.  Yes, at times, they can't be fixed.

TrackMan is our partner,  they provide the technology,  we deal with the players and teams.

Thank you, this is helpful. I understand the relationship between Trackman and PG better now.  It does seems from the small sample size of posters in this topic that most of issues that have arisen surround  misidentification of players. This is completely understandable when you are dealing with thousands of players and hundreds of teams (especially in the large tournaments.  The data from showcases seems to be spot on).  Some ideas that might help for tournaments, especially as pitch counts are implemented in the future:  require coaches to update their rosters to accurately reflect the players actually present at an event at the beginning of the event (which may be very different from what they originally submitted), require each player from the same team to wear a unique jersey number (no duplicates), and after each game have coaches quickly touch base with staff responsible for entering stats in Game Changer, at least to verify the data on which pictcher pitched each inning to make sure it is accurate. Just some ideas to consider. Thanks again for being part of this community and so generously sharing your years of experience and valuable insights with us. We appreciate it!

ENJOYING THE RIDE,

Believe it or not, I absolutely love suggestions that can help us improve.  Especially from people who have attended our events and take the time to give us their thoughts.

We actually are fully compliant with Pitch Smart this year, so some of the things you have mentioned have either already been implemented or will be soon.  Good idea regarding rosters, but because of various technology to work those rosters need to be changed on line.  I can explain if necessary.

One thing for sure inaccurate rosters are our number one problem.  I've really never understood why a team comes to PG events with players looking to be scouted, evaluated, and recruited and turn in an inaccurate roster.  Even though we know the changes, it is too late to reprint programs and information that scouts and college recruiters work off of.

Accurate rosters are the teams responsibility and they are very important. Most teams do a good job with their rosters, others must not realize the importance or they simply don't care enough.  We do try to supply scouts with roster additions and changes, but it can be hard to keep up with all of that.

And as far as participating here at HSBBW, I appreciate the nice words. But this is the number one site for someone that is a baseball nut like me. It is a great place to learn and it is a form of entertainment.  Most importantly, it gives me an idea of what people are thinking when it comes to recruiting, scouting and baseball in general.

Thank you
