Is this another money grab(well I pretty much think most everything is) ?

thanks for the reply's  he is a 2019 RHP  non- committed.

Congratulations to XXXXX!

He’s been invited to THE 2018 UNDER ARMOUR ALL-AMERICA PRE-SEASON TOURNAMENT! It takes place January 12th – January 14th 2018 in Mesa, AZ at Sloan Park, Spring Training Home of the Chicago Cubs and the Under Armour Performance Center. This is an INVITE ONLY event and not everyone receives an invitation! You should’ve received a few notifications along with this as well!

To be selected for this event is an incredible honor – we see thousands of players every year and only the best players in their graduating class are targeted to participate in this event. Current Major League players such as Kris Bryant, Josh Donaldson, Eric Hosmer, Alex Bregman (among many others) have all participated in this tournament. He’ll have the chance to play with and compete against some of the best scholastic baseball players from all around the country and showcase his talent in front of professional scouts. This event is meant to honor the top players we’ve seen each year. This event will show him what high level baseball is like across the country.

Over 40 states were represented last year and we expect the same for this year as well!

2015 son was selected two years. We went to the tourney once. Was a great get-away for us from Snowy New England to warm AZ. Saw a number of really talented players. Tourney was definitely more pro-scout focused (rather than college). I think we went during son's sophomore year. Really confirmed that son's major tool was speed, based on feedback he got at tourney.   So looking back was it needed to land where son would attend college? No, but the experience and competition was a good yardstick to where son was in his development at the time in hopes to be recruited.
