Don't know about this program.

But, if a player is recruited by a new coach, it could represent a special opportunity as coaches are remaking the program with their new guys and those new guys will be given every opportunity to contribute early rather then competing with other, older players recruited by the same coach. (Ask if the coach will be bringing in JUCO/transfer players, though.  Some coaches will go for a quick fix, while others will begin building from the ground up.)

My son went there for two years 10 years ago under the previous staff.  Not only is the school small, but the town of Fayette is as well.  Nothing wrong with that, just have to be prepared for it.  Nearest McDonalds 15+ miles away, similar for other shopping needs mostly 7-25 miles away.

He was very close with teammates.  The situation pretty much dictated they hung out a lot together.

NSIC has some very good teams in it.  UIU has not been very good the past ten years.  I really haven't followed them closely since my son left to finish his baseball career in Tennessee.  It was cold playing up there.

UIU has some different/innovative programs.  Properly utilized, I think they can really help a student athlete in completing school in 4 years.

I know nothing about new staff.

All in all, it has to be the about the school, and if it fits your son, academically and athletically.

All comments are true.  My daughter had two former teammates in softball play there.  Teams tend to be close because they have to be.  Not much else going on.  Travel can be tedious.  Check out the spring trips.  The softball teams travels for long periods of time in February.  It is cold when they start conference.  Real cold!
