I just received an email from a D1 with a questionnaire in it with the ID number that I got from the last one that I received, the last one I filled out was an underclass survey now since its Sept 1st Im considered an upperclassmen so they sent me their true "prospect" questionnaire, what do these mean and what do they use them for,if anything? aside from the survey it just lists some info about the college and program as a whole with an emphasis on the academics not sure if its a blast or not because I wouldnt know how they got my email

Schools use these questionnaires to help build their database of potential recruits and campers.  As just noted, fill it out unless there's zero interest in the school.

 

I'll add that players should be proactive in filling out both the baseball questionnaires and the admissions questionnaires.  There's no need to wait to be asked.

 

Once a player has a vetted list of schools that he has interest, then for each school complete both the baseball and the admissions questionnaires.  The players is getting himself on lists for communications from both admissions and the baseball staff.

As others have said, no down side to filling it out.  

 

That said, my son filled out a number of them, at the school's invitation  that he never heard from again. So you never know.  One such invitation came with a request to send the kids transcripts -- which were not great at the time and may have been the kiss of death with said school.

 

Anyway, I think programs may cast a reasonably wide net with these.
