What was your son's velocity when he first got recruited?

If you could please just drop a note of what age or school year your son (pitcher) began to be recruited and what his velocity was at that time. Son was a two way player (SS/RHP) and didn't pitch a lot as the team(s) had a lot of good pitching.

Frosh: 81-83

Soph: 82-84

Jr.: 86-90 (Active recruiting started)

Sr. 89-93

Lots of interest and several offers at end of Jr. year for both position and pitching. Drafted as pitcher out of HS but chose offer from dream college to play SS position.

My son is a 2016 LHP He started getting D-3 recruitment attention after his freshman year in HS . His velo was maybe 80 mph. He is a junior now sits 83-84 tops 86 and has a D-1 offer and lots of emails/ letters/ calls from other schools.

Fall before soph year was mid 80's topping at 86.

Summer before Sr. year was topping at 88 and basically stayed there until college, where he would hit 90 a few times in most games. His velocity was about D1 average in college at that time.

Freshman year, 1st yr. on varsity. 5'10 165# 14 yr old. Only the second freshman to make varsity in coach's 19 yrs. at the school.
86-88 touching 90

Sophomore year, 5'11 170#. First year colleges started contacting through channels.
90-92 touching 94

Junior year, 6'0" 180#. Recruiting exploded after an early fall event.
92-95 touching 96

Most impressive stat from one scout was he was still throwing 93-94 in the seventh inning of a March game.

Senior year..... we'll see.

Frosh Yr. 5'10 165# 83-87 touching 88,

Soph Yr. 5'11 175# 86-89 touching 90, started getting interest from mid D1 to major D1

Jr. Yr. 6' 195# 87-91 touching 92, verbal to mid D1 in fall prior to Jr. Yr.

Sr. Yr. hoping to be sitting 89-92 touching 93
