Hitting DRILLS for a SLUMP
Right now I'm in a huge slump. I know what the problem is but when you're at the plate you can't think to do this and this, so I'm tryin to work on repition for muscle memory. I'm roatating my lower body 2 quick before the hands, but you need to throw your hands and the lower body follows. Does anyone have any drills to get you to throw your hands first then follow with the lower body.

Gametime Hitting Problem
I am a coach on a 14 travel team and one of our players hits very well in a cage (line drives mostly, some power) and during soft toss. However, when it comes to game time, his bathead drops off and he pulls his head out and is frequently striking out. We have tried a two-tiered tee (hitting a ball while leaving a second - slightly lower ball - intact). This works well while he does it...but then, in a game, he goes back to old habits. Any coaches have any suggestions on drills or other methods

Hitting Lessons: Any input would be great
and have heard just about every philosiphy about hitting though my playing days. My main problem is that I won't have a true batting cage to teach these lessons at. I have a tee and a very nice net in my basement where I would be able to do drills like tee work and soft toss on, and I also have a video camera to get footage of their swings. If I would be able to build my clientel up over time, which I know won't be easy, I would probably be able to rent time at a local batting cage. If anyone has

Desperate, requesting any help
I have a 14yo freshman who has a problem dipping his back side when he swings. He currently see's a professional hitting instructor once a week. After each lesson he seems to correct his problem. Unfortunately the only BP the kids get at practice is kids throwing to each other in the batting cage resulting in screwing his swing up again. We do extensive Tee work, one hand drills etc...on our own and he probably has the best swing on a tee I've ever seen. However during the game his seems to

speed, power, hustle, the name of the game
I am a freshman on my varsity team, and start. I always hustle, have a good arm, good power, and still working so all of these things will get even beter. The only thing that's holding be back is my speed. I am pretty slow, but have quick enough reactions, and soft hands, so I start at shortstop. The only fear I have is when i go to these showcase camps I have to run the 60 and I'll look bad. Can anyone give me drills to do in order to improve my speed? Thanks, Craig Farmer Durham, N.C.

1st Indoor Practice
Morning folks...We don't start our HS season until mid May here in WI. Our HS coach asks me to take both the JV and Varsity indoors which starts this afternoon. On Sunday's we are in a Junior High gym so the longest throw is about 70-90'. I've always had the pitchers after going through some mechanics and drills, throw from 50' at 50-60%. This early I've had them throw 10-15 FB, 10-15 CU and 10-15 breaking balls for mechanics and location. This has worked very nicely for us in the past. I am

How does your team throw before practice and games? Any ideas, drills, or programs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

2 best drills to teach hitting
Alright gurus...I want to challenge you here. If you could only use 2 drills to teach young kids how to hit AND to help veteran players CONTINUE to hit, what would you choose? I realize many of you will say the staples of baseball: quick toss, tee work, short B.P., etc. However, I am interested in some OTHER things you'd have kids work on. We do routines every day that involve 8 stations that the kids go through - 5 minutes per station. Would like to add something really good in the 8th

Most Productive Winter Drills
Now that we are in the middle of the winter season and gearing up for spring training, what drills have you found to be the most effective indoors. Now I am not talking about drills where you have indoor access to a large area (basically normally baseball drills). I am talking about small area confined space type drills that there is only room for the player and maybe a trainer. I like the towel drill for young pitchers: Helps keep them thinking about staying behind the ball. I like plastic

Don’t change Little Johnny’s swing
coaches, players and parents miss the boat. To win championships or for kids to have a chance to advance to the next level, you need to instruct hitters in the fundamentals and drills that will enable them to hit top level pitching. How many coaches really know what, and how to teach these players fundamentals that could really make a difference? My guess is that when you get right down to it, not very many. If there were, would you really see good pitching carving up lineups so regularly? I’m
