One-handed hitting
How important and beneficial is doing one-armed drills? I'm getting surgery on my right hand in a couple weeks (Aug. 9th) so I am not able to hit normal. I have also basically missed this whole year hitting wise, but have played defense. Will it do me any good hitting balls off the tee with my left arm and are there any other drills I can do? Thanks

OK, I'm disgusted about this
inning based on an umpire's call...he called an infield fly when it was borderline...their coaches went nuts. Then a checked swing by one of our guys that wasn't called a strike...more nutty behavior by their coaches. Finally, at some point in the inning, their pitcher proclaimed to his 3rd base teammate within earshot of our 3rd base coach that he was going to "hit the next batter" as ordered by his coach. Who led off the next inning for us? Our pitcher who was having "a day." First pitch drills

Too much cage hitting
My hs season is over, as you would expect, it has been for a while, and during my HS season, I couldn't hit worth ****. I think it was all the emphasis our coaches put on soft toss, tee hitting, and one hand drills. That was all we did in the cages, and JV very rarely got to hit on the field. I only got a handful of hits the entire season, mainly because I was always thinking, use more top hand, hit to the right side, keep the ball on the ground, aim for the gaps, as that was what our

Hustle (or lack thereof)
I get very frustrated at lack of hustle. When doing infield drills (1&cover, etc.), and the shortstop makes an error, and he walks after the ball it really gets to me, more than the error. How much hustle (mainly during practice) is there in your schools?

Need advice for 10U travel team
. My coaches and I think we do a very good job of instilling the fundamentals through practice and drills and they know what to do and how to do it correctly. I think we may even do this to a fault because I am beginning to think we have "spoon-fed" them to much. We talk to them constantly about the game, mentally and physically. I wanted to raise this issue as I have not seen it discussed before and am sure it is something some of you more experienced coaches may have encountered before. This

picking up a curve
I recently played my first varsity scrimmage and realized right away I can not pick up a curveball when batting. Curveball arm action
Hey all, I've been experiencing this problem lately when I'm throwing a curveball. I find that I'm slowing my arm down towards release, and its a dead giveaway to what pitch I'm throwing. The problem I'm finding is that I can't throw my curveball with "fastball" arm speed, and when I do, I end up not finishing off my pitch, and it ends up being a hanger in the top of the zone. Are there any drills that would eliminate this problem? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Pie Throwing
My youngest son tends to sometimes "pie throw" the ball. By this I mean that his throwing hand is somewhat under the ball just prior to release - I guess he may be leading with his elbow too much. He doesn't do it every throw, but when he does his velocity drops significantly. He is currently ten years old - so there should be ample time to fix the problem; but I want to do what I can to prevent any injuries to his arm/shoulder. Does anyone know of any drills that would help to correct this
