Hey Rob - first I digress... nice that you wrote your story in proper second person form (my son, our son, versus third person form Rob Kremer son, 08Dad son). It is very difficult to read many posts these days where people refer to their kids in the third person fwiw...

Great story! Did it end with a Rob Kremer-son walk-off homerun by any chance? - oops my bad - back to learning proper English
