Slot money fairness for our family is the spot (#) you are drafted. In 04 there were 11 comp picks after the 1st round. In 05 there will be about 20 comp picks. The 1st player taken in the 2nd round last year was # 42. The first player taken in 05 in the 2nd round will be about #51. It is all in Baseball America, and parents owe it to themselves to do some homework.
We did homework when we chose our mates. We did homework in high school and college. When our kids recieved scholarships to college, I bet a lot of homework was done on the school and the value of the scholarship. If you choose an agent, you should do your homework on him. If you choose a financial advisor, hopefully you did your homework on them. A little homework at Baseball America should be done by Mom and Dad too and you can decide what is the amount it will take to sign if the player is drafted.
