Reply to "5 years eligibility"

I don't think a college program that expects its players to be drafted would be as impacted by this. But there are many lower-tier D1 (and below) programs that are trying to win, and those might think they would benefit by bringing in players who already have 4 years of college experience, whether these are 5th-year undergrads or grad transfers.

From the players' point of view, with the new rules there are going to be many players who have transferred more than once, who are not going to be drafted but might be short of credits for their degree after 4 years and would welcome a chance at more scholarship (or even NIL) money to complete it.  Or who would want a scholarshipped graduate degree in return for getting to keep playing baseball.
