I don't see having to wear a mask during playing. The main thing is to limit spitting in the batter's box, and maybe 1B and Pitcher's mound. That's not too hard.

Baseball is lucky in that there really isn't a lot of close contact between players. Football...wow...I don't even know where to begin.
