Reply to "Alabama firing baseball coach Brad Bohannon amid betting probe"

We are huge Orioles fans and watch their games on MASN if we are at home. It seems that at least 50% of the commercials deal with gambling, including opportunities to place bets during the game.  Occasionally the pre-game show will be hosted by guys talking about betting on the games.    Major League Baseball was so high and mighty about gambling....until they started getting advertising revenue from the casinos and on line betting services.   It's absurd that Pete Rose hasn't been put in the Hall of Fame at this point.       The sports world has opened itself wide open to revenue  from the gambling industry, and has compromised it's theoretical gambling integrity to the max.  It reminds me of the episode of Dallas where JR offered a woman money to leave town and get away from his brother Bobby. She agreed. Then he tried to drop the price and she says, "Hey ,what do you think I am?" JR replied, "Honey, we've established what you are, now we're just negotiating the price."

Have heard that joke attributable to both Churchill and George Bernard Shaw.  But love the Dallas reference!
