Train -- the lists are usually published once all teams from a district are eliminated from the playoffs -- and then at the discretion of the local newspapers. The complete lists are normally included when the Dallas Morning News prints the All-Area team in a special insert after the end of the season.

The D8-5A selections include:

Coach of the Year ------- Paul Pool, Allen
MVP --------------------- Michael Russo, Lewisville
MVP Pitcher ------------- Garret Carruth, Lewisville
Newcomer of the Year ---- Alex Yarbrough, Allen
