Reply to "Anyone used the swingaway (not hitaway)"

It depends on the age of the player. Ours still hangs on the pole for the basketball hoop.

First and foremost your son must have developed solid mechanics and a repeatable swing that uses these mechanics. We spent a lot of time developing this in our sons.

With that said, from the time that they were 11 or 12 up until just before HS they would each take 100 cuts or so a day on the swingaway. It was a great piece of equipment in my opinion for players in this age group.

They key is to be sure that the player has good mechanics, because the swingaway will develop muscle memory, you want to be sure that the memory being created is correct.
