Reply to "ASC Regular Season Ends-Post Begins"

Texan, the NCAA, at the DIII level, doesn't quite work like we might think it should.
DIII has three pools from which teams are selected. Pool A are the winners of conference tournament championships. Austin College is now part of the SCAC and ended up winning the post season tournament to earn the DIII regional automatic bid for that conference in pool A.
Pool B is 6 bids which get distributed to teams that are indpendents like Chapman, Washington U and the like.
Pool C is about 14 or so bids which the NCAA awards out of the remaining 320 or so DIII teams. Out of the SCAC, Millsaps and Rhodes did not get Pool C bids even though they beat a number of teams that did get bids and even though there were the 2 best teams during the SCAC regular season. Each won over 35 games this year. Unless and until DIII increases the number of teams in post season play, the chances of not getting the best teams is very much increased when you get upsets in the post season tournaments.
