Reply to "Asking a College Coach Where One Stands in the Recruiting Process"

I'm a little late to this party, but here are my thoughts:

As TPM said, coaches recruit the players, not the other way around. Any attempt to accelerate their process is pushing on a rope. It doesn't work.

No matter how serious a coach's interest appears, until he makes an offer, the only thing you know is that he's not yet convinced you're part of his solution. As soon as he is sure, he will move quickly and unambiguously to close the deal.

Telling a coach you're ready to commit isn't likely to create a sense of urgency in him. He has hundreds of emails and voice mails from players who are ready to commit.

Except for the true top-shelf players, it's still early for 2019's.  Most of the D1 action will happen this summer. Focus on preparing to put forth your best foot every chance you get this summer.
