This is literally one of THE BEST exercises you can do. It's a great explosive workout for both core strength and fast movements. It mimics cutting wood, which is also another great workout.

Yes, it builds arm strength, but bat speed comes from the core and following the principles of the kinetic link - two things that are significantly developed in this exercise.
