Reply to "Bottom feeder D1 versus ranked D3"

From what I've seen the Regional differences are huge in Baseball.  Some of these Northeast D1's are really only D1 because they are D1 in other sports.  Not to rip on a program, but Villanova, for example, does not appear to put forth a lot of effort in attempting to field a strong program.  I don't believe they fully fund their scholarship allotment.  When I watched them a year ago, I felt as if they were on par with the California D3 teams from the SCIAC.

Villanova isn’t that bad. But they’re not good. Now that my son is turning 26 and I moved I’m less tuned in. But they used to have two or three players drafted each year. But they were a Big East bottom feeder when the Big East was a P6.

Their field is in a town park ten miles from campus. There aren’t any concession stands or bathrooms. I heard they only fund six scholarships.

Basketball and track are the big sports along with FCS football.
