I'm pretty sure my son only gave weighted; his high school did not calculate an unweighted GPA. I don't know if coaches ever asked for unweighted - obviously when they got transcripts they could see his grades, and the classes he took. A GPA over 4.0 indicates AP/honors classes, regardless of how a school does it.
