I'll never understand this, at this level and I will state HS and youth ball, there is no excuse for an umpire allowing any negative talk between batters and catchers.....

I dont allow it......period....there can be interaction, but it better be minimal and cordial......

Years ago, I was the base umpire in a legion game when in the late innings, the catcher and batter jumped up and got into a full fledged fist fight.......we got them broken up and of course ejected when I asked the UIC what happended and he said that "they had been going at each other all game long"........

All it would have taken was a warning in the early innings and that would have cooled that off...so now that has been my policy from that day until this one..... I have "0" tolerance for this type of behavior..... ...I understand that baseball is a passionate game and I tolerate and encourage passion.....to a degree....
